Why Finding Your Calling Is The Best Business.

Hello Lovely,

“Living your best life is to find out what your calling is. Your real job on Earth is to find out what you were meant to be doing and to find a way to do that thing.” - Oprah Winfrey.”

I’m not saying I have the meaning of life sorted out by any means, but there’s three things I do know after living on planet earth for over 40 years and these are:

  • We are hear to learn and to do so with love.

  • What we have the honour of knowing already we are to pass on to others and be of service.

  • We are here to live our best lives and that we are given our desires for a reason and they are ALL achievable.

For years, I’d wondered what my life purpose was, what my calling was, especially in business. I’ve always known that I’d be called to the health industry and that I was the ‘ideas queen’ and that I could look at situation or a business and see where it was going wrong with laser point accuracy, but I also knew I was here for something bigger than I could ever imagine, yet I couldn’t figure out what that was.

Before I found my calling I was guided into all sorts of areas, down what at the time seemed like rabbit holes and dead ends, but all along building up the knowledge I needed to get me to where I am now.

  • The Veterinary School place that I got but couldn’t afford to go - taught me that my money mindset needed a bloody good shake up.

  • The underpaid female scientist who wasn’t allowed a tea break - taught me about standing up for myself and the importance of gender equality.

  • The beautiful gift of being a mother to an amazingly gifted autistic child - taught me patience and the mama tiger mentality to stand up for what is needing to change, oh, and also how to get by on 3 hours sleep a night and still rock it out the next day.

Everything really does happen for a reason.

When you watch Oprah you see countless guests come on and they she inspires them to look for the meaning in something that’s happened to them, and then ask them to turn around and do something useful with it. The take away nugget of gold is that instead of wallowing in what’s happened to you, embody that experience and use the learning to help others, to make a difference, to create change.

Simply put…THAT is your life purpose. THAT is your calling.

As we move forward into 2020 and beyond I see the tide of business turning. I envisage more women stepping into their power. This may even be you. They will be telling their stories to inspire, motivate and empower others and it’s super important for businesses like ours because we can affect people and businesses so directly.

In the past people have started businesses to make money, full stop. However, as we mover through the next decade there will be a shift to why people and especially women start businesses.

THEY will listen to their CALLING.

THEY will harness their WHY.

I studied Neuroscience for 4 years at University of Edinburgh and gained numerous other qualifications after i left, but the greatest lessons I have learned and the most education I have gained has come from life.

They have come from:

  • Five days of labour followed by and emergency c-section with general anaesthetic.

  • Nursing a baby at 4am after he woke for the 5 time.

  • Walking with my blind friend and describing the world around us.

  • Waking up on the morning after my wedding and looking out over a frosted lake with the love of my life beside me.

It’s the quiet moments where the universe offers you a glimps into your soul, your potential, the knowing that you can be, do and have anything you really desire and that what ever life throws at you you know you can handle. It’s the love you have inside you that momentarily appears and then just as quickly it slips away but it is forever etched on your heart.

From my experiences, I learned to overcome my once very low self-confidence, my limiting self belief that I had to play small have disappeared.

I’m going all in on life and business and i invite you to do the same. Are you with me?

I’m trusting in the universe and believe it has my back and that I can cope with anything and everything that comes my way because I know I will grow and it will empower me and my calling. Do you feel this yet ?

We all have massive potential for success, and to make a difference and to show up in the world in a BIG WAY, especially being self-employed.

Your calling is a gift to give to others, but you need to get your message out to the world, you need to shine your light so others will see and be called to you. The way to do it is through strategy and mindset, There’s only so far that that right marketing can take you, because if you don’t believe in yourself or you don’t yet know who you are called to serve then you need to go back and do some more deep soul work. When you are following your calling both you and your client get the best results.

Wondering how to tap into your own calling?

Here’s what I learned when finding mine:

When you’re NOT aligned with your life purpose, life is a struggle, everything seems difficult and the results you want just don’t appear. its not always about dramatically changing your business (although it may be) but it’s an indicator that you need to course correct.

Hardship and challenges are good, its a place from where you can grow and learn more about yourself.

If you are looking to find your calling and harness it into a business then I recommend you do three things this week.

  1. Look to see what you loved as a child. That time when you were free and everything was possible. What made you happy?

  2. Look for the universe giving you signs. Look for patterns and repetition. begin to take inspired action on the signs. it may be to read more about it, talk to others who know more and feel into what it means for you. What internal feedback are you getting?

  3. Sit quietly. Don’t push. Don’t force something to come just because you think it’s something that you should be called to do. Our calling is given to us. it may seem illogical to you (and often to others around you) but when you find it, go with it.

When you do weave your calling into your business your message will be more authentic, it has to be, it will come from heart and soul.
