You Decide The Amount of Money You Make. (Einstein v. The Bodyguard)

Have you been working like crazy to market your business and yet you’re still wondering why success hasn’t “happened” yet. I’ve seen this happen to so many educated and talented women many times, whose dream is to make her own economy.

Most of us were brought up to believe that making money is hard. Getting clients is hard. Working long hours, 7 days a week and sacrificing family time day after day is not only admirable but also vital for success. 

You may have heard the story of Sisyphus. He is punished in the underworld by the god Zeus who forces him to roll a boulder up a hill for eternity. Every time he nears the top of the hill, the boulder rolls back down. I know that’s how some women entrepreneurs feel about their business, and it really is no fun at all. You know that the results should almost be tangible because you have put the hours in, right?

However, they are still elusive and now you feel that there is something wrong with you.

But the real battle that’s going on isn’t necessarily what’s going on with the marketing, it’s that something’s on between our two ears. If you are seeing a struggle on the OUTSIDE, it simply means that theres a struggle on the INSIDE too, and it’s based on the beliefs we have that leads to the actions we take and therefore the results we get. You see, our mindset affects virtually every aspect of our life and business.

If you’re experiencing struggle or results aren’t happening fast enough, it just means there’s an inner conflict that affects how you think and feel, as well as your beliefs and fears. It’s the age old battle between your conscious and your unconscious.

Right at the front of our brain is the prefrontal cortex that is in two parts, left and right. This is part of our conscious brain. One side acts as our ‘Einstein’ brain, it comes up with our genius, entrepreneurial ideas. However, the other side is what I call our ‘Bodyguard’ brain. This is the part that sends information to our subconscious brain and in particular the area of memory. It goes looking for a reason why we should not succeed, based on our past results, beliefs and emotions. Messages are then relayed back to our ‘Bodyguard’ brain to say that the great idea you had was in fact not so great after all. 

If there’s an external struggle, like clients not coming in fast enough or the fact that money is REALLY tight, then it means that PART of you wants something (your conscious) and PART of you doesn’t (your subconscious). The bad news is, your subconscious mind makes over 90% of your daily decisions and has veto power over your conscious mind, always.

The GOOD news is, once you identify and clear the interior struggle which can take as little as 67 days, the external results you want will follow very quickly. This is what I teach to educated and knowledgable women just like you in The Empowered Mind Method.

The more you train your brain to BELIEVE what you “say” you want, the more opportunities come your way. The more in-come shows up and the easier it all becomes. And before you start going “there”, just remember that I’m no different than you, I still do the work daily.  Once you work on your own Empowered Mind you too can experience the same results. It’s not about working harder! If you want different results, you must change your subconscious beliefs and get clear on the fears that are telling the bodyguard brain to put the brakes on.

Here’s just a few of the dozens that I’ve come up with, based on speaking to women just like you:

* “People won’t pay for this”

* “I don’t know enough, I’ll just do more courses until I feel comfortable”

* “If I get bigger, they’ll find out I’m a fraud”

* “I don’t want to fail (again)”

* “If I get too many clients, I’ll get overwhelmed and wont have time for myself and my family”

* “I’m not worth it”

* “My expertise is common sense”

If this is what’s going on in your subconscious, you’re essentially driving your brain with one foot on the brake and the other on the accelerator. Something will have to give. Either we burn out or give up, and I don’t want either of those things for you. 


Your Assignment:

If you want to succeed, you have to work on your inner game.

Take time today to become aware of your fears and beliefs that are leading to self sabotage. Once you’re clear on them, figure out where they came from, process them and then release them. This will immediately change your behaviors, increase your in-come and new opportunities will start showing up, ones that you never expected. You’ll wonder why you struggled for so long.
